The history of the cookie factory

The Garrec cookie factory is a lovely family story. Indeed, the first family bakery opened in 1890. Since then, each generation has taken over until the 1960s. Around this time, François Garrec decided to go into biscuit-making after an internship with a local manufacturer.
The beginnings were sluggish, and François set up a kneading machine, a rolling mill for wafers and an oven in his garage, in the absence of premises. His Breton products quickly became a hit with wholesalers and consumers alike. In the 70’s, François Garrec innovated and started making take-away crêpes, a novel concept at the time. Once again, the response was overwhelming, and crepe-makers were recruited to help François with production. The garage was no longer appropriate for this fast-growing cookie factory. A 200 m² building was created next to the family home. Every member of the Garrec family is involved in this wonderful adventure, and the cookie factory continues to grow. Today, François’ descendants have taken up the torch. The recipes have remained the same, the know-how intact and the pleasure just as present.
