This monument has been <strong>listed as a historical monument<\/strong> since June 8, 1914. Just as remarkable is the <strong>chapel of Peniti<\/strong> (or Penity, a penity being in Breton a hermitage or small monastery), built in 1723.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is located at the head of the La For\u00eat-Fouesnant ria. Nearby is a <strong>healing fountain<\/strong>, reputed to encourage young children to walk. Destroyed around 1960, it was rebuilt identically in 2005. Once known as the &#8220;Stang Al Lestreg&#8221; harbor, the Vieux Port was at one time the heart of commercial exchanges. Its strategic location and the importance of commercial traffic led to the construction of quays and 2 slipways from 1850 onwards. Every year, around a hundred ships picked up and unloaded a variety of goods (sand, maerl, wood, grain, etc.). In the early 20th century, many farmers in <strong>La For\u00eat-Fouesnant took part in this activity during the winter<\/strong> months, supplementing their income. At that time, the port was also home to sardine and mackerel fishermen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, La For\u00eat-Fouesnant has its own marina: <strong>Port-la-For\u00eat<\/strong>. One of the largest in <strong>Brittany<\/strong>. It&#8217;s known here as the capital of ocean racing, or the Valley of Fools. Located in the heart of the Baie de la For\u00eat, facing the Gl\u00e9nan archipelago, Port-La-For\u00eat offers an exceptional view of a protected natural site. Ideal setting for preparing for ocean racing. The biggest<br\/>  sailors such as Samantha Davies, Michel Desjoyeaux, Armel Le Cl\u00e9ac&#8217;h, Jean Le Cam, Fran\u00e7ois Gabart and many others. Port-La-For\u00eat is a port for all sailors, with yachtsmen, fishermen and professional skippers rubbing shoulders. Come and relax on one of the terraces and watch the sun set or the boats come and go.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3>How to get to La For\u00eat Fouesnant beach<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>La For\u00eat-Fouesnant&#8217;s main beach is a kilometre-long stretch of fine sand, largely sheltered from the wind. Kerleven beach is ideal for swimming and relaxing. During the summer, it is equipped with a first-aid post. What&#8217;s more, it&#8217;s only a few minutes&#8217; walk from our campsite in La For\u00eat Fouesant to the beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Discover South Finist\u00e8re<\/strong> <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Concarneau<\/strong>&#8216;s neighbor, the Ville Close, can be reached from the K\u00e9rant\u00e9rec campsite in just 7 km.<br\/>However, it&#8217;s not the only getaway on offer for holidaymakers wishing to explore the many facets of Finist\u00e8re.
